But the one tournament all set to take the Chinnaswamy Stadium by storm, is the KPL. Official Raagi Mudde Suppliers for the matches, Narayan Vilas from Hubli, are supposed to have bid an obscene amount of money to beat close rivals J C Shettiar from Mangalore.

The official drink of the tournament is now posing a problem: Should the organisers choose Mysore Filter Coffee or Chikkasandra Majige? Three days of brainstorming, and nobody can come up with a solution, liquid or otherwise. Reeraj Lassi Bar's repeated replenishment of refreshments did not help repeal the roadblock.

The TV casting rights have gone to Padma Cable Network that has branches (and hopefully dishes) in Shimoga, Bidar and Hampi. Beamed live into homes, the advertising spots are now being auctioned off.

Title sponsors; Beautiful Jewellers from Bellary, are now shooting a new commercial a la the Super Bowl championships. Last heard, they were planning to use Slavic models in South Africa to sell their traditional jewellery to Maddur maamis.

The opening ceremonies, besides featuring the inaugural match between the Hennur Hudgas and the Madikeri Magaas, is slated to have many attractions. Entertainers are being flown in from around the world to well, entertain, razzle, dazzle and sizzle.

Michael is supposed to have agreed to be the opening act, until a little blip in his echo cardio gram at the thought of MTR's benne dosas put a bigger blip in his plans. Fortunately though, the Dharwad Dolakunitas, have graciously checked their little black books, and figured they were free.

Teams are busy rustling up their cheerleaders. The Mangalore Monsters have decided not to go with blonde, light-eyed, short-skirted women. They're using their deep pockets to fly in their very own backstreet gals: Aishwarya Rai and Shilpa Shettyu00a0 (both of whom are distinctly peroxide blonde, contact-lensed light eyed, and short skirted women).

Tickets are being sold around the world. The all-powerful BANA (Bunt Association of North America, and it really does exist, I kid you not) is supposed to be putting out their diamonds and dollars, bidding for box tickets to the final.

After all the prizes to be won are huge: Rumour goes that the winning team gets an all expense paid holiday to Mandya.
