Since the barrage of Fashion weeks have begun, I'm wondering about the themed fashion weeks we watch year after year. As a person who has seen fashion up close, it's really painful to watch the non-evolution of the fashion weeks.The choreography can get exciting at times, but the garments remain variations of very 'safe' traditional designs and cuts.
I think it's time to evolve as a 'fashion literate' country. We could start working on fashion forecasting and predict the mood, behaviour and buying habits of the consumer.
But I am happy to watch young fashion students and amateur fashionistas impress and amaze me with their fearlessness. I would rather watch them than a rehash of the same old stuff.
