Dev Anand and Manmohan Singh both became trending topics by virtue of sharing a birthday. Not everyone stuck to just greeting them though. Someone with the handle Greatbong tweeted: 'Both have played the role of Prime Minister. Both have been flops in that role.' Diogeneb referred to them thus: 'One turns a blind eye to candles.

The other turns a blind eye to scandals.' According to Eccentricandhow, 'Like Dev Anand, MMS is also a good actor; he just doesn't remember his lines.' And there was this, from a certain Madhavan Narayanan: 'Dev Anand turns 88 today. On the same day next year, he will turn 87.'

Our weekend with Paris
In what came as a surprise to no one, Paris Hilton's appearance was covered in much detail, and wasn't ignored by people online either. In Narendra Shenoy's words: 'Paris is amazing! She can, just by entering a room full of Bollywood personalities, lower the room's average IQ.' Shirish Kunder tweeted: 'Paris Hilton and Lilavati are trending! Hope the blonde didn't check into Lilavati Hospital thinking it's a hotel.' Rohit asked: 'What's a Paris Hilton? A person with Sonam Kapoor's wardrobe and Rakhi Sawant's IQ.' Suhel Seth weighed in with this comment: 'Paris calls Indian women exotic! Are Indian women plants or fruit?' And from Jay Ruston: 'First it was Paris, then the Kardashians. Why do kids idolize these idiots? Admire someone with talent who offers something to society.'

Anger management
The topic 'things people do that get me mad' yielded responses including 'when I buy something and suddenly everyone else does', 'sticking their hands in my plate' and, worryingly, 'honk when I'm trying to finish a tweet.'

The last word
From cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle: 'You can disagree with Shoaib Akhtar, but to seek to gag him and cancel venues for his launch is further proof of our growing intolerance.'
