The US finds itself in a catch-22 situation. Nearly eight years ago, it entered an understanding with Pakistan for providing financial and military support.
In return, Pakistan would have to aid America in flushing terrorist-infested Afghanistan and expect US to mediate in the Kashmir issue.

Will America declare Pakistan a terror state?
We should look at other options like Russia or even China for that matter. In fact, Israel is the best option, if India decides to go on the offensive. Israeli military strategies and intelligence are unmatched. Every time its territory has been attacked, Israel has fought back without outside help.
Having lost enough time already, one only hopes that Home Minister P Chidambaram has a plan or two up his sleeve.
