Having earlier incurred the displeasure of IPL head honcho Lalit Modi, Australia's Twenty20 captain-in-waiting Michael Clarke will not play in the inaugural Champions League tournament in India next month either.

Clarke did not make himself available for the New South Wales Champions League squad announced yesterday in order to take a break from his hectic international schedule, which has seen him in England since May. He will next travel to South Africa for the Champions Trophy, then India for seven one-day internationals next month before returning home for the Antipodeans summer.

Meanwhile disgraced all-rounder Andrew Symonds is in demand for Twenty20 tournaments all over the world.

The 34-year old will play in the Big Bash tournament in Queensland in December and January and is keen to pursue opportunities offered to him in South Africa, England and New Zealand, apart from representing Deccan Chargers in India next month and the IPL in March.
