The unfortunate instances of ragging and suicides in Mumbai might have come in the limelight post 3 Idiots but neither Rancho nor Farhan or Raju can be held responsible.
For all those who have seen the movie, it's no rocket science to judge that the three protagonists didn't indulge in the act of ragging. In fact, while Raju and Farhan played mere victims, Rancho showcased a confident first year lad, who with a positive attitude and presence of mind succeeded in not succumbing to the seniors' ploy.
In another scene where Raju tries to commit suicide, it doesn't pull down the spirits of his close friends Farhan and Rancho, who try all that they can to revive their friends' lost hopes from life. Even Raju bounces back from a near death experience as an all changed individual u2014 high on life and self-confidence.

Claims of several NGOs and individuals about the movie provoking such incidences seem purely baseless. Rather, what makes sense is that the lesser-known saviours of the society are trying to gain mileage from the most successful movie of the year gone by.
Latest is that Medical Education Minister Dr Vijaykumar Gavit, who was to watch 3 Idiots yesterday with his expert committee, will decide if some of the most beautifully filmed, inspiring scenes should be chopped off the movie or continue to be a part of the film. The only point I want to make here is, if 3 Idiots glorifies such acts, doesn't a Dhoom glorify robbery? Doesn't a Dev D glorify drug abuse?u00a0 Doesn't a Kurbaan glorify terrorism and Raat Gai Baat Gai one night stands? If we judge a film on such parameters, then there would be scores of movies that glorify one ghastly act or the other.
Whatever the fate of the scenes be, the 3 Idiots team has nothing to lose. The various issues and controversies surrounding the film have only helped to generate more interest in it.
Every year, the film industry dishes out hundreds of products in the market but only a few manage to grab the attention of the audiences. More the attention, more the shelf life, more sales and more the moolah!
Don't know how many people might be losing sleep over the petty controversies around 3 Idiots, but for the team u2014 Rajkumar Hirani, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Aamir Khanu2026 Aal Izz still Well!
