Apropos the article 'My son'su00a0 been framed by those who envy him' that appeared in MiD DAY. I feel sorry for the parents of tainted IPS officer Saji Mohan, who has been arrested for drug pedaling.

Saji could not have run a racket of such magnitude alone. This appears like a conspiracy that enjoys support of some powerful netas and senior Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials.
Also, one needs to have a look at Saji's track record. During his tenure as Punjab's NCB director, Saji exposed some influential drug mafias. There could be a possibility that Saji has been framed. This case must be closely examined by the investigators before they arrive at a conclusion.u00a0u00a0u00a0u00a0u00a0

Saji should be given an opportunity to talk to the media so that he can reveal any other sinister game plan.u00a0u00a0
Since the ATS has its hands full with so many unsolved cases and is still coping with the loss of their chief Hemant Karkare, Saji's case should be handed over to the CBI.
If found guilty, Saji should be awarded the most stringent punishment under NDPS ACT. The punishment should send shivers down the spine of others involved in this racket.
