Rahul Gandhi, long used to much fawning, got a taste of the wrong kind of publicity following reports that he may have misled the Prime Minister on alleged killings at Bhatta-Parsaul village.



Most tweeple were not in a forgiving mood. According to a certain Ashutosh Singh, if Rahul really wanted development in Uttar Pradesh, he could first develop Amethi, his own constituency.

Shiv Mishra came up with this intriguing tweet: 'Give Rahul the benefit and he will produce doubt.' Also, this: 'Manoj Night Shyamalan's next thriller, based on Rahul, will be titled Non-Sense.'

Going gaga?
A lot of male tweeters decided to mention the words 'Heavy Metal Lover,' naively assuming it proclaimed their love for extended guitar solos and extremely loud music.

Reality finally dawned with this comment: 'When you realize Heavy Metal Lover is a Lady Gaga song, you lose your faith in humanity... All of it.'

D's company
Iqbal Kaskar, brother of a certain Dawood Ibrahim, occupied much space on timelines after escaping an alleged attempt on his life.

While some were glad about this 'challenge to the mafia', others like Sumit Bajoria were more cynical: 'Kaskar's story looks planted; maybe someone in the Home Ministry is trying to get Dawood to come out of his shell in Pakistan.' If that's true, it doesn't seem to have worked.

The last word
Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actor Arjun Rampal were rather philosophical yesterday.

The former pointed out rightly, I might add that 'corporate media control nearly everything we read or watch, imposing a bland uniformity of opinions and numbing us with celebrity trivia.'

The latter told his followers: 'We have too many high sounding words, and too few actions that correspond with them.'
