Apropos to the article in MiD DAY on the Sajid Khan-Ashutosh Gowarikar spat at an awards function. It was shameful for comedian Sajid to poke fun at the film fraternity at the Star Screen awards ceremony.
It's common knowledge that awards functions these days are dominated by the biggies of Bollywood such as Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar who criticise the work of other artistes.
Little wonder that respectable actors such as Aamir Khan and Ajay Devgan give these functions a miss.u00a0
While Sajid may be a fun-loving chap, he must remember that he is not a film critic and should refrain from commenting on the works of others from the industry. He would often criticise directors for being copycats when his sister Farah Khan is no different. The climax of her film Om Shanti Om was a complete lift from the climax of Madhumati. This is what we call double standards.
Both Sajid and Farah should remember that they are a small part of the film industry and not the industry themselves.
I would like to see them make fun of Shah Rukh and Yash Chopra like they made fun of Ram Gopal Verma's Aag last year.
