IPL 2 has had a great start. If the first two days are anything to go by, then one can say that the balance is surely tilting in favour of the bowlers. This is good in a way, for the bowlers too need to have a say in this format.
Indian domestic players will find it tough initially to adapt to these alien conditions. Also, the slam bang approach alone won't work as Rahul Dravid clearly proved. Veteran spinners Shane Warne and Anil Kumble too came into their own and showed that age is certainly not a barrier to play T20 Cricket.
With sporting wickets and a good balance between bat and ball, we can expect some very close andu00a0 interesting matches.
Maybe the usual high scoring games will be a rarity this time but there is certainly going to be an even contest between bat and ball. This is exactly what everyone wants in any cricket game.
Bad decision
Saurav Ganguly has been dropped as captain of Knight Riders this IPL season. When Shah Rukh Khan snubbed Sunil Gavaskar for ridiculing the innovative proposal of multi-captains for the team, what he did not say was that he was the lord of the team and could do what he wishes with it; he could appoint whomever he wished as the captain. Dada is a fighter and he has put Greg Chapell in his place by his consistent performance on the field.
However, this time, he has realised that cricket is at the bottom in the list of priorities at the DLF-IPL 20/20 tournament.
