In a bid to 'break the monotony' of large constituencies that have cornered seats for years at the IIMs, management schools decided to award special marks to girls and non-engineering students.

Reports of this development did not go down well with the people online. Faking News responded with this: 'Breaking News: CAT to have questions on life and relationships to block engineers entering IIMs.'

A certain Ramesh Srivats added: 'It's time to protest against this grace marks business. MBAs, let's get together and abstain from Powerpoint for a few days.'

Abirlal Sanyal was pleased though: 'Welcome move to give women better scope. My mother manages home, finance, food, disasters. To me, every mother is an MBA.'

Pity for the Speaker
Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar was a trending topic for a few hours after footage of her trying to calm the House down emerged yet again. Smitha Verma tweeted: 'Isn't Kumar the perfect example of 'stuck in a wrong job'? Maybe she should become a moral science teacher.' And Pradnya Adhikari begged: 'The Lok Sabha is chaos. Someone please teach them discipline. I pity Meira Kumar.'

It's all a game

The ridiculously addictive game Angry Birds won over a new audience after a version titled Angry Anna was released. The spin-off involved an angry Hazare taking down corrupt politicians.

Arun Verma had a valid query though: 'Shouldn't it be called Hungry Anna?' Vijayendra Mohanty predicted an advertisement: 'Angry Anna v2.0: Now with Sonia and Rahul.' And Soumik Sen believed 'The best way to root out corruption is to play a real-life version of Angry Anna in Parliament.'

The last word
From the horse's mouth, as it were, this advice from journalist Rajdeep Sardesai: 'Lesson of the day: Be wary of breaking news. A few hours ago, we were claiming a breakthrough, now we're edging back to status quo.'
