The movie hansie

I watched Hansie on Sunday with my wife Andrea and I can't get it off my mind. Everyone knows how good a cricketer and leader Hansie Cronje was and what he got into (match-fixing). What moved me was the way he repented for his wrongdoing and the determination he showed to start afresh.u00a0

Hansie was a warm person and this quality came shining through in the movie. His meeting with Peter Pollock (father of Shaun Pollock) and his interaction with South Africa's team coach, Bob Woolmer, is interesting too.

The end is very emotional. He had started a new life before the air crash killed him. Andrea and me had tears in our eyes. I was also touched by the kind of backing he got from his wife Bertha and his family to turn a new leaf.
