Queen doesn't approve of Kate's headless wedding dress display"It's horrid, isn't it? Horrible ufffd it's dreadful."
That was Queen Elizabeth's comment to Kate Middleton when the two took a sneak preview tour of the royal wedding dress exhibition that opened to the public at Buckingham Palace on July 23.
Though the beauty of the exhibit objects is unquestioned, it was the setup that apparently left the monarch cold.

"It's made to look very creepy," she added. Kate's diplomatic response? She told the queen it had a "3D effect."
It seems likely the Queen objected not without reason it must be said to the fact that the mannequin the dress is fitted to does not have a head.
With the veil and tiara that Kate wore hovering just above and a spotlight shining down on the entire ensemble, there is definitely a sort of eerie 'headless bride' feel to the display.
According to reports, 600,000 people have already paid ufffd17.50 (R1,250) for an advance ticket, which makes Kate's wedding dress display by far the most popular annual exhibit ever at Buckingham Palace. The exhibition runs through October 3.
