Says Rachna Davidar, wife of author David Davidar after he was slapped with a case of sexual harassment by former colleagueEmbroiled in what is being called the publishing world's newest scandal, former president of Penguin Canada David Davidar is calmly working and trying to resolve the scandal.
A former colleague launched a half-million-dollar lawsuit on June 10 alleging he sexually harassed her for three years.
In a statement of claim, Lisa Rundle alleged Davidar practised a 'campaign of harassment', which included inappropriate text messages, leering and stalking, and culminated with Davidar bullying his way into her hotel room at the Frankfurt Book Fair last October and forcing his tongue into her mouth.
"There's so much I want to say," Davidar's wife, Rachna, said, shaking her head. "So much, but I've been asked to zip it."
"We'll get through this together," says Rachna.
The couple have been together for 15 years. "He can't talk," she says, gently. "Please don't ask him."
Davidar (52), has held a series of prominent jobs in the publishing world. He led Penguin Canada for the past six years.
Penguin issued au00a0 statement on Friday stating that he was asked to leave the company last month. The announcement has shocked literary observers. Rundle, is seeking $100,000 (Rs 4 crore) in damages from Davidar.
