Two moderate earth-quakes of 4.6 and 4.4 magnitudes on Friday struck Nepal, taking the total number of aftershocks in the country to 313 after two devastating tremors killed nearly 9,000 people
Kathmandu: Two moderate earthquakes of 4.6 and 4.4 magnitudes on Friday struck Nepal, taking the total number of aftershocks in the country to 313 after two devastating tremors killed nearly 9,000 people.
The first quake was recorded at 1.22 am (local time) with its epicenter in Dolakha district, some 150 kilometers west of Kathmandu. Another tremor of 4.4 magnitude was recorded at 10.19 am (local time) with epicenter in Dolakha district.
The two quakes have followed a 5.3 magnitude tremor that struck central Nepal on Thursday. The quake was recorded at 9.57 pm (local time) with epicenter located at Sindhupalchowk district, 60 kilometers North-east of Kathmandu, according to the National Seismological Centre Kathmandu.
Nepal is still recovering from two major quakes and several aftershocks that have killed 8,800 people and left a trail of destruction.
