A 68-year-old South Korean woman failed her driving test for the 771st time, but she plans to apply for a 772nd attempt

A 68-year-old South Korean woman failed her driving test for the 771st time, but she plans to apply for a 772nd attempt, local media reported today.

The woman, identified as Cha and living in Wanju, North Jeolla Province, has kept failing the written exam since her first attempt on April 13, 2005, according to Korea Times.

Applicants can obtain a license after passing a written exam and then a practical driving test. Cha has sat the written exam almost every day at the Driver's Licence Agency in the province, except for weekends and holidays. The agency said her number of failed attempts is record-breaking.

Cha, who sells living necessities door-to-door at apartment complexes, carrying items in a handcart, thought she needed to drive for her job and began to apply for the driver's license.

"I feel sorry every time I see Cha fail. When she passes, I will make a memorial tablet myself and give it to her," Park Jung Seok, a traffic police officer at the agency, was quoted as saying.
