Indicating the most striking thaw in Western ties with Iran in over a decade, the UK reopened its embassy in Tehran on Sunday.

The long-awaited move comes four years after a mob stormed the compound, forcing its closure. Following this incident in November 2011, Britain shut the embassy and expelled Iran's diplomats from London.

At the event, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif (right) and his British counterpart Philip Hammond, discussed ways of maintaining healthier ties between the two nations.
