"SCA and 2Day FM are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the death of nurse Jacintha Saldanha from King Edward VII's Hospital," TMZ.com quoted Southern Cross Austereo, the company that owns the station as saying in a statement.

SCA said the CEO has spoken with both the DJs Mel Greig and Michael Christian, who are "deeply shocked" over the tragedy. "SCA and the hosts have decided that they will not return to their radio show until further notice out of respect for what can only be described as a tragedy," the company added.

According to the New York Daily News, Greig and Christian from the Sydney-based 2Day FM station, pretended to be Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles and fooled nurses at the London hospital into revealing details about Kate's condition on Tuesday.
