A participant on "Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model" has said she was targeted by sex traffickers who wanted to move her to Italy
Anastasia Bogatirjova, 19, who lives in Reading, was approached by a man who claimed to be from an international modelling agency.
He asked her to move to Milan from her home country Latvia, but she turned down the offer, The Sun reported.
Later, she was informed by police that the man was the ringleader of a human trafficking gang.
Anastasia was spotted by the fake modelling agency at a beach party.
"A policeman called my mum and said the agency were selling girls as prostitutes abroad. A lot of them were sent to Russia. It wasn't Milan at all," she said.
"I have no idea what happened to any of the other girls. It's so scary and I'm so thankful I didn't go, or who knows where I would be now?"
