Rusedski is demanding that his investments must be returned as he has failed to receive a reply from Lloyd over the state of the project.
The project has reportedly fallen behind schedule because of the global financial crisis, and civil unrest in Thailand over the past three years.
In a writ lodged in the High Court, Rusedski has claimed that he and his wife Lucy paid the money into Lloyd's personal bank account in Thailand in three instalments.
The first instalment of ufffd533,943 was made from Rusedski's wife's account. The second installment of ufffd73,551 went from Rusedski's personal account and a final amount of ufffd133,564 was sent from the couple's joint account.
In the court, Rusedski has claimed that after three years, Lloyd has failed to give him a satisfactory account of how their investment was spent.
"The allegations made by Rusedski are being vehemently denied and will be vigorously defended," Lloyd's spokesman said.
Lloyd launched his project in 2008 it involves building 27 holiday villas over 40 acres of land on the western coast of Phuket. Each villa would have breathtaking views of white sandy beaches and the Andaman Sea.
