A security guard reported for work at a bank in Karachi and then called in his accomplices who took away Rs.9 million in cash after holding the staff hostage.
Ghulam Nabi Afridi, a police official, said security guard Anwar Mohammad Khan with the help of his three accomplices broke the lockers and robbed foreign and local currency worth Rs.9 million.
Khan had reached the bank in his duty time and after taking charge called in his accomplices who were also wearing guard's uniform.
"The four then held all employees hostage and took away Rs.9 million as well as four mobile phones," the Daily Times quoted Khan as saying.

The robbers also snapped the wires of CCTV cameras, rendering them useless.
