An apparent fowl up by North Korea's system administrators, uncovered the lid on something very interesting. North Korea's cyberspace houses only 28 websites!
The discovery was made by Doug Madory, a researcher at Internet monitor Dyn, who uploaded the details of the ".kp" to GitHub, a website popular with programmers.
Like many other nations, North Korea too has it's own country code top-level domain name. But the discovery uncovered the following things...
>> Only 28 websites use the ".kp" domain name. In comparison, Germany's ".de" domain name has over 16 million web addresses
>> There were websites other odd websites like "Friend" appeared to be a social network, another named "cooks.org.kp for cooking recipes, "korfilm.com.kp" for North Korean cinema.
It is believed that the system administrators allowed visitors to access websites with the .kp domain by accident.
