Washington: The US has said it is not aware of any planned visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the White House during his trip to the country to attend 70th annual session of the UN General Assembly in New York next month.
"I'm not aware of any planned visits by Prime Minister Modi to the White House in conjunction with his travel to the US for the United Nations General Assembly," White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said yesterday.
Responding to questions on possibility of Modi meeting President Barack Obama, Earnest said the White House was oblivious of any such development.
Modi is also expected to travel to San Francisco to address the Indian Diaspora on September 27 and meet corporate leaders in the Silicon Valley, becoming the fourth Indian Premier to visit US' West Coast.
In a five-day visit to the US in September last year, Modi had met Obama and sought investment from prominent CEOs besides exhorting the Indian-American community to take up a greater role in the development of India.
