Obamas to wait till spring to select pet

US President Barack Obama has said the First Family will wait to select a dog till spring when his daughters Sasha and Malia would be more enthusiastic walking a pet.

"We are going to get it in the spring. I think the theory was that the girls might be less inclined to do the walking when it was cold outside," said the doting father.

He also indicated that they have not yet selected a breed. "You know, we're still experimenting," Obama said when pressed to divulge the possible breed of the First Dog.u00a0
