A Taliban commander linked to several attacks on security forces was killed by troops in the restive Swat valley in Pakistan's northwest, from where 11 other militants were also captured, authorities said on Tuesday.
Militant commander Siddique alias Abu Zar was gunned down during a clash with security forces in Charbagh sub-division of Swat, the army-run media centre said.
Two of his aides were captured after being injured in the gun battle. Two assault rifles, a pistol and a wireless set were recovered from their possession.
Siddique had been linked to several attacks on security forces. In the troubled Khyber tribal region, security forces arrested nine militants, including a commander named Sher Ali, in Bara sub-division, officials said.
