The tough economic times could be having an impact on irrepressible Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, who was reported to be selling his Holmby Hills mansion for $28 million.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the mansion backs on to the Los Angeles Country Club and also shares a lot line with the official Playboy mansion next door, where Hefner is still known to saunter the nights away dressed in his famous pajamas.
Hefner (82) bought the 700-sq-m mansion for a reported $6.7 million for his Playmate wife Kimberley, in 1998. The couple split in 1999, but Kimberley remained in the house where she raised their two sons who have now gone to college.
The palatial spread features five bedrooms and seven bathrooms, a two-storey entrance hall, a large living room with one of the home's three fireplaces, a library with a second fireplace, a family room that adjoins the dining room and an eat-in kitchen - and a massive expanse of lawn.
