London: Part of Queen Elizabeth II's wardrobe, both present and past, will be on display from this Saturday at Windsor Castle, about 32 km west of London, in the exhibition: 'Fashioning a Reign: 90 Years of Style from The Queens Wardrobe'.

Until January 8, visitors can take a rare glimpse into the Queen's Windsor Castle Wardrobe, EFE news reported on Friday.

Her family wedding outfits, ceremonial robes, riding clothes and childhood pantomime costumes -- worn by the Queen -- are parts of the collection going on exhibit for the first time.

According to the senior curator of decorative arts at the Royal Collection, Caroline de Guitaut, this exhibition shows both "the formal side and the glamorous side" of the Queen, as well as the private side of her life, including the outfit she wore "when she was a child in the Girl Guides".

The curator described the exhibition as "a little autobiographical" because it represents the various aspects of Queen Elizabeth II's life at Windsor, such as the Queen's passion for riding her ponies in Windsor Great Park and her family life.

Amongst the many items, the 'Aladdin' costumes -- with cream silk pantaloons and blue, pink and white embroidered silk top, will be exhibited.

The teenage Princess Elizabeth wore the Aladdin costumes when she and her sister Princess Margaret performed in a royal production of the Christmas pantomime Aladdin at Windsor Castle in 1943.

Also on display is the pale yellow and white boucle wool dress and coat with a matching hat, the queen wore on the wedding of Prince Charles, Prince of Wales with Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.
