Beijing: Six more people have been lifted from a collapsed gypsum mine by Friday evening in east China's Shandong Province, but 19 others remain trapped, authorities said.
At least 29 people were working in the shaft when the mine collapsed around 7.56 a.m. (local time) at the gypsum in Pingyi county, Xinhua reported.
Rescue work is difficult as part of the underground tunnel has been blocked.
According to the official microblog of China Earthquake Networks Centre, the collapse caused a four-magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale in Pingyi County.
The shock affected local rail service, with 10 freight trains halted and eight passenger trains delayed, the Jinan Railway Bureau said.
