Slumdog Millionaire scored top award from the Producers Guild of America (PGA), giving further momentum to its race for the Oscars next month


Slumdog Millionaire scored top award from the Producers Guild of America (PGA), giving further momentum to its race for the Oscars next month.

Film's producer Christian Colson was awarded the Darryl F Zanuck producer of the year award at yesterday's event.

The film beat Milk, The Dark Knight, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Frost/Nixon to win the top honour.

The film has scored 10 Oscar nominations, includingu00a0 three for Indians, and the PGA's choices are considered to be the most likely winner at the Oscars. Its predictions for Best Picture have got 12 Academy Awards in the past 19 years.
