A strong earthquake shook Costa Rica on Thursday, killing two children and one teenager. The tremors send frightened residents running into the streets of the capital as windows shattered and walls cracked.
The US Geological Survey said the 6.1-magnitude temblor was centred 35 km northwest of the capital of San Jose in the early afternoon.
The Red Cross said in a statement that a young girl, who hasn't yet been identified, was killed by a landslide unleashed by the quake near the city of Alajuela, north of the capital.
