Three members of a family, including a teenaged boy, were mowed to death by an express train while trying to cross a railway track in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao district, an official said Monday
The victims aged between 14 and 40 years were hit by the Kanpur-Pratapgarh Express train at the railway track near Jaitpur village Sunday.
"After noticing a goods train approaching them, they three hurriedly moved on another track and were hit by the express train. All the three died on the spot," Government Railway Police (GRP) inspector Manoj Mishra told reporters Monday in Unnao, some 50 km from Lucknow.
Police said the three were natives of Unnao.
