The Tokyo Sky Tree, the world's second tallest man-made structure, reached its full height of 634 metres (2,080 feet) yesterday, a week after withstanding a massive earthquake.


The Tokyo Sky Tree, the world's second tallest man-made structure, reached its full height of 634 metres (2,080 feet) yesterday, a week after withstanding a massive earthquake.

Construction on the Sky Tree, also the world's tallest free-standing television tower, had continued despite the quake that strongly shook Tokyo.

"We've cancelled a ceremony in consideration of people affected by the disaster," a spokesman for the tower's operator said.
