A UN official was shot dead on Thursday in Peshawar, northwest Pakistan, TV reports said.
Ibn-e-Usman, an official of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), was shot dead when he tried to resist an abduction bid by gunmen outside his office in the Katcha Garhi area of the city in North West Frontier Province (NWFP), the Express TV reported.
A clerk and a security guard of the UNHCR office were injured in the attack, the report said.
The gunmen fled the scene after the attack.

The injured and the body of the official have been shifted to the nearby Hyattabad Medical Complex.
