Karachi: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on Monday issued orders to all internet service providers (ISPs) to lift viewing barriers from YouTube.
According to the Express Tribune, YouTube's Pakistani domain has already been online for the as part of a trial run.
'They have blocked the unwanted content which was the main point of contention and it has been solved,' a PTA official told The Express Tribune.
The ban has been lifted after almost three and a half years after YouTube was blocked in Pakistan in September 2012 after a movie with blasphemous content sparked global protests.
At the time, the country's top court said that the site should be banned until a way is found to block all blasphemous material.
