Harbhajan Singh's childhood coach, Devendra Arora, was at a net session in Dharamshala ahead of Punjab's Ranji Trophy match against Himachal Pradesh when he heard the news of his student's second consecutive Test century against New Zealand.
"I am very happy. I knew Bhajji would get the century," he told MiD DAY. "It was an unbelievable effort. He is now the best all-rounder in the country after Kapil Dev. His batting has improved tremendously," he said.
Harbhajan was only 12 years old when Arora began coaching him. "In Jalandhar, at Burlton Park, he started his cricket career. From the beginning he was a good learner of the game. I am very proud of him, my blessings are always with him," he concluded. Harbhajan scored his first Test hundred in the previous game at Ahmedabad.
