Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez is reportedly likely to sue the club's manager Roberto Mancini for defamation of character.
It comes after City fined Tevez four weeks wages - about one million pounds - for what they say were five separate breaches of contract in a Champions League game against Bayern Munich in September.
A club investigation had found the 27-year-old guilty of refusing to play in the match.
According to the BBC, Tevez has been advised that Mancini's post-match comments on the matter could amount to defamation.
