Vadodara: Riding on Aditya Tare's (71) unbeaten half-century, Mumbai registered a six-wicket win over Maharashtra in a West Zone match of Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament at Motibaug Cricket Ground, Vadodara here yesterday.
Chasing 149 to win, Mumbai lost Jay Bista (1) in the first over. Armaan Jaffer (27) and Shreyas Iyer (32) stitched a 42-run partnership to get Mumbai's innings back on track. But it was captain Tare's 38-ball knock that saw Mumbai through with eight balls to spare.
Earlier, put into bat, Maharashtra managed 148-7 in their alloted 20 overs.
