Afghanistan shocked Ireland by 22 runs on Saturday in the World Cup qualifier Super Eight game to keep their dream of a place in the 2011 World Cup alive. Afghanistan made 218-7 in 50 overs and then restricted Ireland to 196 in 47.3 overs. Hamid Hasan, Afghanistan's star with a five-wicket haul, referred to the victory as "probably the greatest in Afghanistan cricket history".
