The non-payment of dues to Mohammed Azharuddin's was brought up in yesterday's meeting between the BCCI office bearers and Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) in New Delhi It is learnt that CoA chief Vinod Rai decided to let the BCCI's General Body decide on the issue.
According to sources, Azhar will be richer by R five crore if the BCCI decides to grant him his dues. Earlier, several verbal requests and emails to the BCCI urging them to pay him were unanswered.
"My expectations are positive; I never think negative. The letter that I sent to the Indian cricket board was put on the agenda of the meeting so that means they are serious about it. I am hoping this case is resolved at the earliest and we move ahead," Azhar told reporters in Mumbai where he was present during a promotional event yesterday.
