BCCI tells Indian players not to take notice of men like Mazhar Majeed
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has rubbished claims against Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh, after the London-based agent involved in the spot-fixing allegations, Mazhar Majeed, who has created a flutter across the international cricket fraternity, asserted that he had access to the two star Indian players.

"We don't want to give any importance to these claims. Here's a person (Majeed) who's being investigated by the Scotland Yard for the last six months. And he's wildly dropping names of reputed cricketersu00a0-- who he claims to know. All we know is that he was an agent to Pakistan's players. But that does not establish anything about his links (with Indians)," BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla told MiD DAY.
'Please don't worry'
When asked about Harbhajan Singh's claim that he would take up the matter with the Board, Shukla said: "Of course, and we will take whatever action if necessary. But we don't think this issue is important to be discussed. The players must not pay importance to what a person of his credibility alleges. They must not worry".
Majeed, who is at the centre of spot-fixing allegations, came up with a series of boasts to an undercover journalist of the defunct News of the World, who posed as an Indian businessman and recorded the conversation.
Majeed, who is facing a spot-fixing trial in London's Southwark Crown Court, was heard saying in the recordings that he had access to Harbhajan and Yuvraj, besides claiming that he was good friends with former Indian Premier League (IPL) boss Lalit Modi and ex-Pakistan captain Imran Khan. While the recordings were being played, journalist Mazher Mahmood sat in the witness box behind a screen to hide his identity from the public and media.
Majeed, who? Bhajji wants BCCI to take action, Yuvraj rubbishes claims
Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh have rubbished claims of Pakistani cricket agent Mazhar Majeed, who claims that he had access to the two Indian players. Both Harbhajan and Yuvraj denied knowing Majeed. "Who is he (Majeed)? Such remarks are nothing but rubbish. We will bring to the notice of the BCCI, who will take necessary course of action against this fellow," Harbhajan said from Nagpur, where he is playing in the Challenge series.
Yuvraj echoed similar sentiments. "And who is Majid!! absolute rubbish! Don't no never met!," Yuvraj wrote on Twitter. "The problem in India is if some one says a rooster has given an egg it will become news !! Whether its true or not its doesn't matter."
