Officials of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are not amused by the Cricket Advisory Committee's (CAC) apparent inability to reach a desicion in the matter of the head coach for Team India. The CAC was asked to contact Team India skipper Virat Kohli at the earliest by the BCCI in order to fast-track the appointment of the head coach.
According to Crickbuzz, this was after the postponement and negative media coverage, which led to Committee of Administrators (CoA) chairman Vinod Rai calling up BCCI's acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary and CEO Rahul Johri to reach Kohli as soon as possible in order to announce the new coach.
The BCCI questioned how will weightier administrative matters in the board be tackled during the post-Lodha era, if players are unable to sort such a simple issue.
According to a senior functionary, lack of clarity on Monday by CAC panel members regarding the appointment of the Team India head coach proved that administrative issues are still best equipped to be dealt with by officials from the board.
The the Lodha Committee reforms clearing suggested that empowerment must be granted to the players themselves to handle the game.
