Kolkata: About a dozen odd cricketers from Bihar under the banner 'Bihar Players Association' today protested outside the venue of the BCCI working committee demanding full membership of the state.
Holding placards and shouting slogans, the dozen odd cricketers held their protest before they were pacified by the
local police authorities.
The affiliation committee of the Board has already recommended full membership to Chhattisgarh as it remains to
be seen whether Bihar get to fulfil their demand.
Headed by Mritunjay Tiwary, BPA had been demanding full membership of the state and had earlier staged demonstration outside the residence of president Jagmohan Dalmiya.
"For 14 years, there has been no cricket in Bihar after the full membership was gone. There's no future for Bihar
cricketers, thousands of talents are nipped in the bud for lack of exposure," Tiwary told PTI.
The BCCI has already formed two separate ad-hoc committees for Bihar and Uttarkhand to be spearheaded by Niranjan Shah and M P Pandove respectively as they will function till the affiliation issues of the two states are resolved.
