IPL franchise CSK has approached Madras High Court against Justice Lodha committee's order of terminating them from the prestigious T20 tournament

Chennai: Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has approached Madras High Court against Justice Lodha committee's order of terminating them from the prestigious T20 tournament.

The franchise has filed a 37-page petition in the High Court, stating that "unless an order of interim stay of the impugned proceedings is granted, the effect of punishment would destroy all that CSK has meant to public forever."

In a landmark judgment, Justice R.M. Lodha-led committee appointed by the Supreme Court in July, suspended both CSK and Rajasthan Royals (RR) for two years from the league.

The sixth edition of IPL was caught in a controversy after the police launched legal proceedings against several officials and cricketers, including former Test fast bowler S. Sreesanth, for illegal betting and spot-fixing.
