Sri Lankan skipper Angelo Mathews said that his team's underdogs tag puts the pressure on the Indian team for today's Champions Trophy game at the Oval. "Since nobody gives us any chance, we have the licence to go out and express ourselves without fear, as we have nothing to lose. The pressure will be on the Indians," Mathews said.

He admitted that the absence of Upul Tharanga is a big blow. "It is a big loss and there are no excuses. You need to try and support the captain on the field. Rather than him planning to bowl the 50 overs in time, the others have to look after that and the captain has to get on with the game and make decisions in the middle."

Mathews stressed that Sri Lanka are under no pressure, but in international cricket no team is shielded from pressure and scrutiny. They would also like to give off their best and if they can upset India on the way, it will be a big achievement for them.

Cricket manager Asanka Gurusinghe said the players were confident despite the setbacks. "We will go out there in a positive frame of mind. We have players who on their day can come up trumps,"said the 1996 World Cup star.
