Tendulkar's 141 & 4-38 against Australia (1998)
The inaugural edition in Bangladesh witnessed an impressive 141 from Sachin Tendulkar in India's opening match against Australia. The batting legend's innings included a 140-run stand with Rahul Dravid and 132-run stand with Ajay Jadeja. His 128-ball knock bailed out India and helped his team post a mammoth 307-8 in 50 overs after reeling at eight for two at one stage. This was also Tendulkar's third consecutive ODI ton against Australia in 1998 after his 143 and 134 in Sharjah. He did not stop there as he made the Aussies dance to his tune with the ball as well, picking up four for 38 in India's 44-run win.

Yuvraj's dream debut (2000)
The 2000 Champions Trophy edition will be remembered for Yuvraj Singh's dream debut. Yuvraj did not get to bat in the first match vs Kenya, but made full use of the opportunity in the quarters vs Aus, slamming an 80-ball 84 as India won by 20 runs. In the semis, he scored a 35-ball 41 and claimed the wicket of SA's Jonty Rhodes. Yuvraj could score only 18 in the final vs NZ, but made amends by giving away a mere 32 in 10 overs. He ended the event with 143 runs in three innings.
Captain's knock by Ganguly (2000)
Skipper Sourav Ganguly led from the front in the 2000 edition, scoring 348 runs in four innings at an average of 116.00. His unbeaten 142-ball 141 powered India to a 95-run win in the semi-finals against South Africa. The southpaw continued his fine form in the final against New Zealand, scoring 117 off 130 balls, but India lost by four wickets at Nairobi.
Sehwag-Ganguly's 192-run opening stand (2002)
Indian openers Virender Sehwag and Sourav Ganguly set Colombo's R Premadasa stadium on fire, scoring 192 runs for the opening wicket in just 28.4 overs in reply to England's 269-7 during the 2002 Champions Trophy league tie. The Delhi batsman's 104-ball 126 was laced with 21 fours and one six, while skipper Ganguly's smashed 12 boundaries and three sixes en route his unbeaten 117 to take India to an eight-wicket win. The Nawab of Najafgarh went on to score 271 runs in five matches at an average of 90.33.
Kaif's 111' and Zaheer's 4-45 vs Zimbabwe (2002)
Mohammad Kaif's unbeaten 111 off 112 balls propelled India to 288-6 in 50 overs after being in dire straits at 87-5 against Zimbabwe. Zaheer Khan did not let the Zimbabwean openers settle, claiming the wickets of Dion Ebrahim and Alistair Campbell. Zaheer finished with 4-45 in 10 overs including two maiden overs which helped India win the opening match by 14 runs. The pacer finished the 2002 edition with eight wickets in five matches.
Dhawan's fiery show (2013)
Shikhar Dhawan played a major role in India's unbeaten run in the 2013 Champions Trophy in England. The southpaw slammed his maiden ODI ton (114 off 94 balls) to guide MS Dhoni's men to a 26-run win over South Africa in the opening game. Dhawan then smashed an unbeaten 102 off 107 balls in the next match against West Indies. He scored 48 against Pakistan and then made 68 and 31 against Sri Lanka and England in the semis and final respectively. Dhawan thus amassed 363 runs in five matches at an average of 90.75.
Jadeja picks 12 wickets in five matches (2013)
Ravindra Jadeja was the most successful bowler in the 2013 Champions Trophy, bagging 12 wickets in five matches. The left-arm spinner, who won the 'Golden Ball' award, bowled at an economy rate of 3.75. His 5-36 in 10 overs against West Indies, including two maiden overs, was one of the highlights of the 2013 event.
