The cold war between ace defender Rio Ferdinand and England coach Fabio Capello is over after the two shook hands on Monday night.

Ferdinand was angry at the way Capello took the England captaincy off him two months ago and handed the armband back to John Terry.

Capello failed to inform Ferdinand, who was injured at the time, of the decision and the centre-back had to read about it in the Press, The Sun reports.

So the first time Capello had a conversation with Ferdinand since the captaincy was changed was when the Three Lions squad met up at their Grove Hotel base in Hertfordshire ahead of this Saturday's Euro 2012 qualifier against Switzerland.

Ferdinand showed his togetherness with the squad in training as he larked around with his teammates, including Terry.
