Soccer heartthrob David Beckham has asked his fans for a special birthday gift, footballs for underprivileged children.
The sportsman, who will turn 36 on 2 May, has asked his followers to shell out USD 33 to purchase footballs for children around the world who cannot afford one, reported Sun online.
The footballer, who has three sons with former 'Spice Girls' member Victoria Beckham, insists every child should have the opportunity to play his favourite sport.
"Often kids have to play football (soccer) with cans and discarded rubbish or they've nothing at all and miss out totally. Now I'm almost 36 and I'm asking everyone to help put this right," said the footballer.
Beckham is expecting his fourth child with Victoria, and this time it will be a girl.
