Victor Vilasrao Deshmukh made it clear that the MCA will continue to be ruled by politicians for at least another two years.
Deshmukh, an uncommon face in the MCA corridors, having attended just one meeting as vice president, made it clear that he will only look after the administration part of things and that cricketers will continue to develop the game.
"I am here as an administrator and not for the technical issues on the game. For that, our cricketers will work together," he said.
"The cricketers who were there in the opposition should not think that they are not part of the Association. I will need their help to give the country more Test and international players.
An association can only prosper if administrators and players join hands," he said.
