Dhoni & Co ignore Prabir

None of the Indian players spoke to Prabir Mukherjee after their seven-wicket defeat to England in the third Test at the Eden Gardens yesterday

Mukherjee created a storm when he refused to prepare a rank turner for the Test match. "It is unethical to tamper with the pitch as per the liking of the captain. I have not done it in my life. Why should I do it now? Let them give me in writing then I will do it," Mukherjee was quoted as saying before the Test.

However, Dhoni and he had reportedly buried the hatchet before the first ball of the Test was bowled.

On the other hand, the England team, after their victory celebrations, sought his permission to practice on the wicket, which they ended up doing while the Indian players indulged in a game of football. As expected, the England team trained.

Selectors insist on Zak sacking
Meanwhile, it is learnt that the big wigs in the Indian team wanted Zaheer Khan to be retained for the Nagpur Test, but the selectors insisted on a change.

Ashok Dinda, who several felt should have made a home debut here, will be in the playing XI of the Nagpur Test unless new lad Parvinder Awana can impress his India teammates with his speed in the nets at Nagpur. Ravindra Jadeja will walk into the XI in the spot left open through Yuvraj Singh's sacking.u00a0
