Like Shaw, Gohil also came into the squad as a replacement after many players pulled out due to injury. That saw youngsters like Shaw and Gohil being thrown at the deep end to either sink or swim. The two teenagers have only enhanced their reputation by making the most of the opportunity to play Duleep Trophy at such a young age. On this pitch conducive to spin bowing, Gohil bowled with a lot of skill and maturity to claim five for 94 and along with Washington, who claimed the other five, ensured a big lead for India Red. For India Blue, Abhimanyu Eswaran scored 127, while left-arm medium pacer Jaydev Undakat contributed 83 to the score.
